Screening

Screening is the initial evaluation of an individual, intended to determine suitability for a particular treatment modality. You must screen a patient who has been checked in.

 

In this process to screen a patient, you locate the patient details and then access, record, and change:

1.      Clinical history

2.      Allergies

3.      Vital signs

4.      Nurses Note

5.      Smoking status

6.      Reviewing of systems

 

 

To search for patient's details:

Prior to checking in a patient, you need to search for the patient's details.

 

1.      In the home page, from the horizontal menu, click Home.

The Dashboard is displayed with the list of appointments for the day.

2.      In the Scheduler widget, in the search field, enter the first name / last name / chart number of the patient.

3.      Click Search.

The appointment details for the particular patient are displayed.

4.      Another way of searching a patient: From the Show All drop-down list, select Screening.

Only the details of patients to be screened for the day are displayed.

5.      Scroll to locate the relevant patient.

Tip: If the list is long, click Next to move to the rest of the patient names.

 

To screen a new patient:

6.      Click Screening next to the patient name.

The Screening popup is displayed. Two screenshots are given below - one for new patient and another for a follow up patient.

7.      Click Continue.

The Clinical window with the Nursing Station selected is displayed.

Note : A banner comprising the different steps/sub-processes ( Clinical History, Allergies, Vital Signs, Nurses Note, Smoking Status, ROS) for completing screening are displayed along with check boxes at the top. On completion of the individual sub-process, the check box against it is automatically selected. A Done button is also provided for specifying the completion of the whole process.

Tip: (a) Though not recommended, the user may click the Done button to complete the screening process without completing any of the sub-processes (Allergies, Clinical History, Vitals, Nurses Note, Smoking Status, ROS). (b)Then, click Ok in the Confirmation popup. (c) You will then be directed to the Home page with the status against the appointment changed to Examine.

8.      Recording information for the sub-processes:

 

9.      From the left menu, select Clinical History and enter the following details.

10.  Click the Done button on the extreme right of the Screening Process banner to complete the Screening process .

The Dashboard is displayed. The status of the patient's appointment is changed to Examine.
