(Patient Chart -> Clinical -> Lab Procedures)
This section covers the lab procedures advised/ordered for the patient. These are the tests or series of tests that need to be performed in the laboratory to help guide the diagnosis.
You may access, record, and change the details.
To access lab procedures details:
1. Use the main Search to search for a patient's details.

2. In the search results, click View Chart.
The Patient Chart is displayed with the Patient's Dashboard selected.

You see the Lab Order/Result widget on the Patient Dashboard.
Note: You can access the main Lab Procedures window, by clicking Lab/procedures under Clinical, from the left menu.

To record and change lab procedures details:
The Patient Chart is displayed with the Patient's Dashboard selected. This screen is displayed when you are in the examining process.

3. In the Patient Dashboard, in the Lab Order/Result widget, click the Show drop-down list below the title (Lab Order/Result). It provides the following options:
All - To view the details of all lab procedures.
Requested - To view the details of requested lab procedures.
Scheduled - To view the details of lab procedures for which date and time have been scheduled by the facility.
Done - To view the details of performed lab procedures.
Cancelled - To view the details of cancelled lab procedures.
Results Received - To view the details of done lab procedures for which results are received and attached.
Reviewed - To view the details of the lab procedures the results of which have been reviewed by the provider.
Speak to Patient - To view the details of lab procedures which need to be discussed with the patient.
Schedule Patient visit - To view the details of lab procedures against which the patient's next visit is scheduled.
No Show - To view details of lab procedures for which the patient was not available on the scheduled date.
Request Not Sent - To view details of lab procedures that have not reached the insurance provider for authorization.
Pending - To view details of pending authorization for requests sent.
Approved - To view details of authorization requests that have been approved.
Rejected - To view details of authorization requests that have been rejected.
4. In the Patient Dashboard, in the Lab Order/Result widget, click Add/Edit.
The Lab/Procedures popup is displayed.

5. In the Lab/Procedures popup enter/select the following:
Note: Fields marked with * are mandatory.

10. | Set as default | Select the check box if you want to save the entered/selected details as a template. |

6. Click Add.
The details are displayed in the table given below, under the selected date of visit tab.
Tip: Click the '+' symbol that precedes the name of the lab procedure to view its occurrence(s).

7. Under the Action column, click Edit to change the details.

8. You may also click the drop-down to take various actions on the ordered/advised lab procedures.

Schedule: To schedule the lab procedure.
In the popup below, select the following:
Status: The default option is 'Scheduled'. If needed, select a different option from the drop-down list.
Date: Click the Calendar control to select a date for the lab procedure.
Time: Click the Time control to select a time for the lab procedure.
Notify to Patient: Select this check box if the patient needs to be notified of the lab procedure.
Click Cancel to cancel the entered details, Save to save the details, Order Fax to fax the details, and Order Print to print the details.

Done: To complete a lab procedure.
In the popup below, select the following:
Status: The default option is 'Done'. If needed, select a different option from the drop-down list.
Date: Click the Calendar control to select a date of completion of the lab procedure.
Click Cancel to cancel the entered details, Save to save the details, Order Fax to fax the details, and Order Print to print the details.

Cancel: To cancel a lab procedure.
In the popup below, select the following:
Status: The default option is 'Cancelled'. If needed, select a different option from the drop-down list.
Date: Click the Calendar control to select a date of cancellation of the lab procedure.
Note: Enter notes, if any.
Click Cancel to cancel the entered details, Save to save the details, Order Fax to fax the details, and Order Print to print the details.

Attach Result: To attach the result of a lab procedure.
In the popup below, select the following:
Status: The default option is 'Results Received'. If needed, select a different option from the drop-down list.
Attach Result: Click Browse to select a file to attach.

upload: Click upload to upload the selected file.
The box below displays the uploaded file under Results. Select a Type and Abnormality from the respective drop-down lists.

Click Cancel to cancel the entered details, Save to save the details, Order Fax to fax the details, and Order Print to print the details.
Reviewed: To indicate that the lab procedure has been reviewed. Click to change the status to 'Reviewed'.
Speak to Patient: To indicate that the patient needs to be informed of the lab procedure.
In the popup below, select the following:
Status: The default option is 'Speak to Patient'. If needed, select a different option from the drop-down list.
User: From the drop-down list, select a user to speak to the patient.
Note: Enter notes, if any.
Click Cancel to cancel the entered details, Save to save the details, Order Fax to fax the details, and Order Print to print the details.

Schedule Patient Visit: To schedule a patient visit to succeed the lab procedure.
In the popup below, select the following:
Status: The default option is 'Schedule Patient Visit'. If needed, select a different option from the drop-down list.
When: Click the calendar control to select a date for the visit of the patient.
User: From the drop-down list, select a user to facilitate the visit of the patient.
Note: Enter notes, if any.
Click Cancel to cancel the entered details, Save to save the details, Order Fax to fax the details, and Order Print to print the details.

No Show - To view details of lab procedures for which the patient was not available on the scheduled date.
In the popup below, click the 'X' symbol at the top right hand corner to close the popup and return to the Lab Order/Result widget.

Edit - To edit the lab procedure details. Click the Edit the details.
View - To view the lab procedure details. Click to view the details.
Delete - To delete the lab procedure details.
In the popup below, click Ok to delete the details and click Cancel to cancel the deletion process.

9. Select the check box before the name of the lab procedure.
10. Click:
Order Fax to fax the details.
In the popup below, select the following:
Sender Type: Select an option from the drop-down list.
Email: Select the check box if an email is to be sent. If yes, enter the email address.
Fax: Select the check box if a fax is to be sent. If yes, enter the fax number.
Attachment: Click to view the attachment.
Note: Enter notes, if any.
Click Send. A message is displayed to state that the fax is being sent.
Tip: Click Cancel to cancel the entered details.

Order Print to print the details.
The following report is displayed. You may want to save it.

11. Click the 'X' symbol at the top right hand corner of the window to close it.
The details are displayed in the Lab Order/Result widget.
12. In the Lab Order/Result widget, click See More.
The Lab Procedures window is displayed.
Note: The below window is displayed when you are accessing/recording/changing lab procedures from the examining process.

13. In the Lab procedures window, from the right menu:
Click All Procedures to access details of all procedures.
Click Pending to access only pending procedures.
Click Ready for Review to access procedures that are ready for the provider's review.
Click dates listed under Past Visits to access details of procedures of a particular date of visit.
The Lab Procedures window, displays:
Lab Procedures - Displays details of the lab procedures.
Date of visit/Due in - Details date of visit and when the lab procedure is due.
Status - Displays the status of the lab procedure.
Facility - Indicates the name of the facility.
Status - Displays the status of the medication.
Specimen - States the specimen to be presented and the result.
Action - Allows to perform different actions. These are detailed as part of the Lab Procedures pop up.
Tip:
Click Lab Procedures - Add / Edit: Go to change the details of lab procedures.
